Applied ethology is the study of the behaviour of animals that are under some form of human management and is a growing scientific field that is helping to improve welfare of animals kept in homes, on farms and in zoos.

This site is maintained by a veterinarian with a particular interest in animal behaviour.  It contains three types of information for different types of visitor:

  • Children are directed to the kidsí stuff pages that look at the sorts of greeting, grouping and grumbling seen in domestic animals.

  • General readers are most likely to be interested in the page on training and those dedicated to farm, companion and exotic animals.
